Taste It with the University of Agriculture in Krakow

On September 28-29, 2019, in the green areas of the historic Manor of the Agricultural University in Krakow, the Malopolska Food Fair “Taste It with the University of Agriculture” was held. This edition, as every year, was designed to promote regional and traditional products, as well as physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. During this year's edition, the program has been enriched by the agritourism offer of our region, thanks to joining forces with the 21st Malopolska Agrotourism Exchange.

For two days, the manor house of the University of Agriculture in Krakow turned into a space for the exchange of knowledge and information on the greatest treasures of the Malopolska Region. The flavors of traditional and regional products as well as traditional music were very much present. You could try dishes typical of our region, as well as take advantage of nutrition advice provided by dietitians, and talk to producers who manufacture their products in accordance with the idea of Slow Food. There was a real special treat awaiting everyone at one of the stands: the Krakow celtuce, our regional product, which, despite being associated with our region for a long time, was somewhat forgotten. Tomasz Krupa, the then Commissioner of the 27th International HORECA® Fair in Krakow, brought back the splendor of the Krakow celtuce. Thanks to his activities, the Krakow celtuce was planted in 2019 at the JeDynie ecological farm near Krakow.

The "Taste It with the University of Agriculture in Krakow" event, being part of the Slow Food CE project, shows the benefits of choosing healthy, regional products and returning to the artisan methods of making them. This edition surprised us with a wide range of agritourism offers, which has been developing incredibly in the Malopolska region for several years. Participants could also benefit from fitness clubs, dance groups and many attractions for the youngest residents of Krakow.

The event was organized under the auspices of: Culinary Krakow - European Capital of Gastronomic Culture 2019
